The Secret Hercules

By Paul Howard - Posted on 15 October 2008

An expression of something a simple for change with no esoteric meaning. This is inspired by seeing and spending some time with my eight year old nephews last night.

Nephews

Feathers lifted to the sky
fly for a brief moment
Erupt in delight
become taller than I.

Feet returned they sparkle
“One day I will lift you!”
to young to realise
They already do.

This poem sparkles. One of the happiest things you've ever written. (Are you feeling well? :D)

I love this simplicity of this and the rhyming scheme. Lovely.

The rhyming scheme was accidental. It was written straight and when I looked back over it, I spotted the rhymes..

Now that is so lovely! They are lucky lads to have an uncle like you.
