In Birmingham you find a lot of gas pipe lines following attached to bridges or in their shadow, or alternatively you are traveling on hefty stone slaps with "Danger High Pressure Gas Main" etched on them. There are of course electrical cables tucked away in metal bridges with High Voltage warnings plastered over them well out of climbing reach.

I am guessing the pipe featured below is a gas pipeline but it struck me how almost alien it was in the middle of all the greenery. It was almost like a giant mechanical worm about to embed itself like a parasite.
